I’ve been a fan of music since I was 10 years old and even I have to admit that the music industry is changing. Thanks to the popularity of the internet and websites like MySpace, Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook anybody who is an aspiring musician can release mixtapes and gain a gigantic following without releasing an official album. A couple of artists that this has happened to is J. Cole and Drake. But I think none of these artists have as big of a following as Pittsburgh’s own Wiz Khalifa.

Wiz Khalifa has been in the game since 2005 and has dropped 2 albums and 8 mixtapes since then. I had heard of Wiz from a friend last year (she’s like his biggest fan I know) but I really started hearing a lot about Wiz when he released the mixtape “Kush &OJ” back in April. Not only had Wiz been dropping music since 2005 he has always been doing shows to promote his music. And imagine a surprise when I found out that Wiz would be in concert at my old school, Illinois State. I mean during my past four years there the only urban artist my school has brought there were Snoop Dogg and Ginuwine (you know people who have gotten airtime on top radio stations).
